Due to the fact that no-one has any original ideas any more, Hollywood, in its infinite wisdom, has seen fit the need to revitalise the Short Circuit franchise.
But here's what I don't understand... Short Circuit 1 and 2 were perfect films. There was actually nothing wrong with either of those movies (unless you count Johnny 5 returning as a gold robot at the end of 2, which was entirely wrong, but cool in the 80's).
Also, both the films are available on DVD, and were made in colour... so what, I ask, is the need to remake these films?
Any remake will NEVER be as good, due to the fact that it won't star Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg, or Fisher Stevens (the best ever white-man-to-play-an-Indian-man in the world).
I dread to think what third rate "comedy" actors they'll bring on board for this... not to mention what kind of (undoubtedly) horrid CGI robot they'll replace the original Johnny 5 with.
The worst thing about all this news? The film is to be directed by Tim Hill, the "genius" who brought you Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Hop. Cinema is officially dead. Thank you Hollywood.

Okay, so here's the scoop:
NASA are going to be launching the Atlas V rocket this Friday and on board, there will be 3 custom made Lego figures representing the Roman Gods Juno and Jupiter, as well as scientist Galileo.
Apparently the NASA scientists working on the project are huge fans of Lego, and approached the company with the idea of putting Lego figures in space.
Here's the crazy thing... Lego then went ahead and custom built 3 aluminium figure for NASA at a cost of $5,000 each! A bill that was even footed by Lego. The reason? Well, according to Lego, they feel that by putting the figures into space, it will promote such programs to children.
Now, let me ask you: What child needs any MORE excuses to love sending rockets into space?
Personally I think it's a way for Lego to sell a ton of space related Lego sets that will more than cover the $15,000 they spent on 3 little men. But hey, it's Lego, so who cares?

The Long Distance Pizza Party is a monthly online event. People all over the world are invited to get together, or hang out virtually and eat pizza together, while watching a scifi movie.
During the party, and while prepping for it, send along pizza recipes, photos of you, your pizza, and your friends, plus memes, gifs, and commentary related to the monthly movie to the group tumblr (http://pizza4everybody.tumblr.com/)!
This month's movie is 2001, Space Odyssey. (Available on netflix instant watch- but get it however possible!)

Facebook and Twitter seem to be holding the top spots of social networking right now, and I believe that's partly because each offers something the other doesn't. This way, they can co-exist in harmony.

According to NASA (VIA Geekosystem):
The video of the explosion was captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. According to Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy the explosion could have blasted a billion tons of material away from the Sun in a plume as big as the Sun itself at perhaps over a million kilometers across.
From the video, it appears that plasma was released from the Sun’s surface, in a fountain of particles that spread outward and then collapsed back down to the Sun. Blasts like this are capable of shooting material away into space, but Earthlings needn’t worry. This particular blast was aimed away from Earth (as are most events like this.)

New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures and MGM have announced the titles and release dates for filmmaker Peter Jackson’s two-film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit. The first film, titled “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” will be released on December 14, 2012. The second film, titled “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” is slated for release the following year, on December 13, 2013.
Both films are set in Middle-earth 60 years before Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in the blockbuster trilogy that culminated with the Oscar®-winning “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” The adventure of “The Hobbit” follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug.
Under Jackson’s direction, both movies are being shot consecutively in digital 3D using the latest camera and stereo technology. Filming is taking place at Stone Street Studios, Wellington, and on location around New Zealand.

The latest word on the street is that Sony are working on the next Playstation already. I guess it's no surprise really, what with Nintendo close to unveiling the Wii 2 (with added Blu-Ray) at E3; and reports of Microsoft announcing a new XBox.
They can't divulge much more information at this stage, but knowing Sony they'll wait until everyone else has released their consoles, see what they're missing, put back the release of their own console so they can include all the missing bits, charge you an arm and a leg for it, and then open it up to hackers worldwide. Good old Sony.

There's talk of a new Batman game on the horizon. Warner Bros. are working with Monolith Productions (Condemned, F.E.A.R.) to create a a first-person shooter whereby players can create their own hero or villain in the DC Universe.
As the name implies, 'Gotham City Imposters' will not actually let you play as Batman or any of his enemies, instead you will be a character influenced by them.
There is no release announced as yet, but it is confirmed that it will be a downloadable game available on XBox Live and PSN (if it ever works again).

Ubisoft have released details about the next Assassin's Creed game: Assassin's Creed Revelations. Read below for more information:
In Assassin's Creed Revelations, Ezio Auditore will travel to Constantinople, in the footsteps of Altair, in order to further unravel the mystery between the Templars and the Assassins.
Revelations also brings back the multiplayer experience first introduced in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood with "more modes, more maps and more characters" according to the official announcement. In addition, players will be able to "manipulate the construct of Desmond's memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future."
In addition, Revelations has been described as the "final chapter of the Ezio trilogy" and is scheduled for release this November. We'll learn more about the game at E3 next month.
The first image to emerge from the new game also features a new tool simply called the "hook blade" which you can see hanging from Ezio's sleeve.

But when I suggest a link, people instantly point out that Gremlins are inherently evil, whereas Yoda is a symbol of peace and knowledge.
To these people however, I say: a curse to you is your short sightedness.
Consider what we know...
The rules for keeping a Mogwai and why:
1) Avoid bright lights - this causes temporary blindness and disorientation.
2) Avoid water - this causes the Mogwai to reproduce somewhat mischievous offspring.
3) Do not feed after midnight (although this doesn't take into account time-zones, nor daylight savings time, we are not here to discuss the flaws of the rule) - this causes the mogwai to transform into a larger green creature, otherwise known as a Gremlin.
Now... what else do we know?
In the two Gremlins films, Gizmo gets wet, thus creating evil offspring, who then eat after midnight and become big and retain their evilness.
We never actually see what happens should Gizmo, who is sweet, and good, and wise; eat after midnight.
And that, my friends, is how the unknown race of Yoda was created... a few good Mogwai, such as Gizmo ate after midnight - got bigger, turned green, but retained their pure hearts.
